If Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz opposes the demand for division of South Punjab then the nation will reject them in the next elections, Federal Minister for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Saturday.
She said Nawaz Sharif’s ideas were based on dictation and not on consultation. She was talking to reporters after a programme arranged by a private university.
Veteran journalists and writers including Arif Nizami, Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Amjad Islam Amjad, and Auria Maqbool Jan also spoke on the occasion. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that there was no province in the world that was as big as Punjab therefore it was difficult to manage its affairs and the demands of the people of South Punjab should be honoured, adding that however, Punjab Assembly was the proper forum to address the issue.
