Special price checking teams headed by the magistrates of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration imposed fines worth Rs 34,400 on 53 profiteers on Sunday. A Spokesman for ICT said Islamabad Secretariat Assistant Commissioner (AC) Umar Asad imposed fines worth Rs 9400 on 18 shopkeepers for over charging, during a surprise price checking in the area of Noor Pur Shahan. The spokesman added that AC Saddar circle, Fariduddin Mustafa, imposed fines amounting to Rs 18.500 on 32 profiteers during checking in Sector-I. He also took samples of some food items for laboratory testing. Meanwhile AC City Muhammad Ali Randhawa imposed fines amounting to Rs 6,300 during price checking in Iram Market, Sitara Maket and Gulshan Market.
