Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa said on Saturday that formation of provinces on administrative grounds would not harm the federation and would instead bring prosperity in the lives of people in remote areas.
Addressing participants of the BISP cheque distribution ceremony at the Governor House, he asked the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership to come forward and form a consensus on the name of a new province in Southern Punjab.
The Punjab governor said PPP would not tolerate extortion and would defend rights of people at every cost. He reiterated the PPP government’s resolve to strengthen democracy in the larger interest of unity in the country. Governor Khosa said the PPP wanted to empower people in neglected areas including Southern Punjab so that everyone could get access to equal opportunities of employment, education and development. He said the PPP was accountable before the masses and would win the next election through public support.
