Valuables worth Rs 1m robbed from MPA Saima Aziz’s house

Three armed robbers looted valuables worth Rs 1.0 million from the house of PML-N Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Saima Aziz on Friday. Saima Aziz told Pakistan Today that she was at her home, located in Ideal Garden Housing Society on Main Ferozepur Road, with her husband and children when two armed men entered her house and held her on gun point. Saima said the robbers tied her, her husband and children. The MPA said she cooperated with the bandits and did not offer any resistance as the robbers took away 10 tolas of gold ornaments including one gold chain, one gold locket, two gold bangles, one gold bracelet, four expensive wrist watches, two diamond rings, LCD and CD player, Laptop, eight mobiles and prize bonds worth Rs 80,000.
Saima said the robbers stayed in her house for two hours, adding that they were so fearless that one of them snatched an ATM card from her eldest son and went to a nearby bank to withdraw cash from his account. She said the robbers also forced her to sign a check of Rs 80,000.
The robbers later hired a rickshaw and escaped from the scene, Saima said. She said further that police had registered a case and had started investigating into the matter. Moreover, police had also collected recording of a CCTV camera of the housing society, which had captured one of the bandits, Saima stated.
Sources in Nishter Colony Police said servants of MPA Saima Aziz had been arrested to trace the robbers. Sources claimed that investigators had badly tortured servants Khursheed Bibi, her daughter Farhat and son Ijaz in a bid to find the robbers. Model Town SP Awais said a case had been registered and the matter was under investigation. He, however, denied that police had tortured any of the servants.
