Tamaasha Inc recently performed their newly written play Sheikhpear’s Omlet at the Pakistan American Cultural Centre auditorium.
The play, which has been written by Osama Siddiqui and directed by Medhat Hashim, was attended by a large audience comprising people from all walks of life.
Tamaasha Inc intended to promote a sense of patriotism and inculcate the importance of voting among the audience.
“We all want to bring change in Pakistan, but we don’t know how to go about it. This play has highlighted some important issues and provided possible solutions, instead of drawing room discussions,” said Tamaasha Inc Marketing Director Saeed Zaman.
Tamaasha Inc Director Sameer Mirjat said, “Tamaasha Inc promises to perform on significant issues pertaining to the betterment of society. With constant support from the civil society and the media, we are committed to awaken the patriotic spirit among the youth of the country.”
Sheikhpear’s Omlet revolves around a few Pakistanis settled in the United Kingdom and facing an identity crisis.
This play focuses on different attributes of the Pakistani society and the reasons that are a hindrance to the betterment of the system and the society.
Even after adopting many attributes of the Western society, the Pakistanis are stuck with the blame game and reluctant to take responsibility.
The play was performed by Obaid Ghouri, Ali Fayyaz, Osama Siddiqui, Muhammad Wasay, Farhan Razzaq, Waleed Rashid, Affan, Faiza Saleem, Medhat Hashim, Zain, Saadatullah, Murtaza Akhund and Umer Mansoor along with constant backstage support by Manaal Memon and Zahra Anum.
Tamaasha Inc is a student-oriented group that has been performing plays since the past seven years. They have been able to make people laugh for hours through their skills of playing outrageous characters in various milieus.
Besides keeping it funny, they also try to portray the real-life dilemmas faced by the youth and the country itself.
