The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has directed to provide security to 10 important personalities tagged as VIPs including Asfandyar Wali Khan, who heads the ruling Awami National Party, and Fazlur Rehman, head of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
These personalities will have protection of paramilitary Frontier Constabulary as well as Levies force. In the wake of fresh terror attacks in different parts, the provincial government has directed security operators to provide complete protection to these personalities.
Besides Asfand and Fazlur Rehman, former Interior minister and Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain, Inspector General of Police Fiaz Tooro, and some other personalities, names are not mentioned in the report.
