An anti-terrorism court in Karachi adjourned the hearing of Sarfraz Shah murder case until Monday. After recording the statement of the Chhipa Welfare Association ambulance driver who took wounded Sarfraz to the hospital.
The driver said that he had reached the site on a phone call and took Sarfraz to the hospital, along with two Rangers personnel, in a critical condition.
He said that he had made the distance in 10 minutes.
After recording the statement of the witness, the court adjourned the hearing until August 8.
At the next hearing, defence and prosecution lawyers will give the final arguments before the court.
On previous hearing, defendant’s lawyers filed applications to summon chemical examiner and ballistic experts in the court.
The public prosecutor objected the move, saying the defendant’s lawyers were using delaying tactics.
The court reserved its verdict on the applications of defence lawyers.
Rangers Sub-Inspector Bahaur Rehman, Lance-Naik Liaquat Ali, and constables Mohammad Tariq, Minthar Ali, Shahid Zafar, Mohammad Afzal and a private contractor, Afsar Khan, have been prosecuted for murdering 22-year-old Sarfaraz Shah with intention in the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park in Karachi’s Clifton area on June 8.
