PCB disqualifies Ejaz Ahmed

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has disqualified Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) Honorary Secretary Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi for breaching the conduct of holders of office rules 2004.67. According to a PCB press release issued on Friday, Faruqi issued press statements, criticising the PCB and their functioning on multiple occasions for which he was issued a show cause notices. He never replied any of those. The matter was then taken up with the KCCA president who was requested to initiate a disciplinary action against Faruqi for violation of the rules.
The KCCA president forwarded the request to him for his comments who denied the charges. After considering all facts, circumstances and the arguments of Faruqi the inquiry officer, under rule nine of the PCB, conduct of holder of office rules 2004, recommended to disqualify Faruqi to be a member of the association (KCCA). PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt endorsed the decision and subsequently a letter has been written to the KCCA president in this regard on Friday.
The decision is as under: “KCCA Honorary Secretary Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi is immediately disqualified to be a member of the Association; consequently ceases to be Honorary Secretary of the Association with immediate effect.” Faruqi has the right to appeal to the Governing Board under paragraph 35 of the PCB constitution within 30 days of this order.
