A gang of bandits stormed into a private bank branch in Model Colony on Friday and took away over Rs 4.58 million, police said.
Five armed men entered the bank branch and held the security guard and the bank staff at gunpoint before walking off with more than Rs 4.58 million. The robbers also took away the closed-circuit television camera footage.
A bank official said that five armed men entered the banking facility while one of their accomplices stood at the gate. They left after snatching Rs 4.58 million from the cash counter.
An FIR has been registered against unidentified robbers while some of the bank employees are also being interrogated, said police.
Last Friday, at least six armed robbers had struck a private bank branch in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, held the staff and security guards hostage before fleeing with Rs 3.2 million.
