Fourteen cows died after receiving a severe electric shock in the Sehjapal village in South Cantonment precincts on Thursday. According to details Chaudhary Aslam, a resident of Sehjapal village, was taking his cows to a nearby field when his animals received severe electric shock and died instantly.
He said the land was wet because of the rain and the main electric wires were at a distance of about 5 feet only. He claimed the wires caused his animals to burn and die immediately, adding that because of Wapda’s negligence, he had lost animals worth about Rs 4 millions. When contacted, Sub Inspector Tanveer Zaman Khan of Chowki Nadra Abad Police said a case had been registered against WAPDA on the complaint of Chaudhary Aslam.
