Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has reiterated his appeal to the people of Karachi to keep faith in Allah and maintain peace at every cost. In a video message from London, he asked the MQM workers and residents of Karachi to engage every religious and political party to bring a durable peace to Karachi, said a statement issued by MQM here on Thursday. Altaf Hussain said the reason he had appealed to the public to store rations for at least one month was that when the terrorists were attacking from Katti Pahari, food and other necessary items had become scarce. Even the small children had to go without milk, he added.
When the houses and shops were being reportedly attacked in Surjani Town and when over 150 motorcycles were allegedly torched outside a factory, there was no one to protect the helpless people, he said.
He said he had appealed to the people to store ration and other necessary items, if the situation similar to Qasba-Aligarh of the 1990s erupted in other parts of the city as well. Altaf expressed gratitude to the Rangers director general and personnel for reaching the affected areas and bringing peace. He said if there was peace in Karachi, Pakistan would be peaceful.
