Lyari building collapse toll rises to 9

At least nine bodies have thus far been recovered from the debris of the five-storey building that collapsed yesterday in Lyari area of Moosa Lane.
There were several people reportedly trapped under the rubble of the crumbled building.
Rescue work to remove the debris continued overnight to take out at the earliest people left trapped under the debris. Army has also joined hands in the relief efforts in progress despite narrow pathways to the mishap site.
Two of the deceased, Areesha and Bilal, were siblings.
People are still praying for the well-being of their dear ones residing in the ill-fated building.
Jewelry was also recovered from the debris, which the deputy commissioner assured would be handed over to their actual owners.
Commissioner Karachi Muhammed Hussain Syed has urged people living in buildings adjacent to the collapsed five-storey compound, named as Qasr-e-Ruqayya, to evacuate as they are feared to collapse as well.
