Mujahid Squad Police (MSP) Superintendent Athar Waheed has replaced all the 17 naib moharrars with freshly graduated police officers to improve their performance.
An MSP spokesman said the old naib moharrars were lethargic and dishonest, hence the superintendent of police (SP) had directed the Office of Special Investigation to replace them with immediate effect on Thursday. He said new moharrars would include Head Constables Basharat Ali, Fazal Abbas, Faisal Islam, Faisal Tauheed and Constables Mohsin Ali, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Nawaz, Amir Shahbaz, Muhammad Ehsan, Usman Shahid, Irfan Ali, Sajid Ali, Amir Islam, Mubashir Iqbal, Jehangir, Muhammad Naveed and Ehsanul Haq.
The SP also told the newly appointed police officers to perform honestly as no negligence would be tolerated.
CTP: Separately, the City Traffic Police distributed over 900 special Iftar packets among commuters at 14 specified points in the city in the last two days.
According to an official handout issued on Thursday, City Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Ahmed Mobin personally distributed Iftar packets at the Ravi Toll Plaza, Mall Road Bridge, Jail Road Bridge, Ferozepur Road Bridge, PMG Chowk and Barkat Market. The CTO told all traffic wardens to ensure free distribution of Iftar packets till the last day of Ramadan.
