Turkish consul general bids farewell to Pakistan

Pakistan and Turkey are two brother states, but the ties between the two countries have been strengthened further during the past three to four years, said Consul General of United Arab Emirates Suhail Bin Matar Al Ketbi at a reception in honour of the outgoing Consul General of Turkey Fethi Etem.
Ketbi said, “Etem has been with us for nearly three years. Turkey has had close ties with Pakistan for the past many decades.”
He said that the relationship between these two brotherly countries would strengthen further after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the flood-hit regions in Pakistan and launched aid campaigns.
The Red Crescent of Turkey has played a pivotal role for the rehabilitation of the flood-affected people in Pakistan, he added.
Kaya Bey, a Turkish energy ship that had anchored at the Karachi port to generate electricity for Pakistan is another example of how Turkey wants to strengthen the infrastructure of Pakistan, he said.
He added that in demonstration of solidarity, Turkey has dedicated an impressive installed capacity of 330 megawatts to Pakistan out of its worldwide fleet of power ships.
“I am confident that Etem will continue to work for strengthening ties in his next assignment as well,” he concluded.
