The Punjab Emergency Service Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer on Thursday gave a performance review of Rescue 1122 in 36 districts of Punjab during the month of July.
The data revealed that the service rescued 34,171 people in 33,588 rescue operations in 36 cities of Punjab, while maintaining an average response time of seven minutes.
Of these operations, 6,327 were carried out in Lahore, 2,730 in Faisalabad, 1076 in Rawalpindi, 1,414 in Bahawalpur, 2,597 in Multan, 1,162 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 848 in Rahim Yar Khan, 1,038 in Sahiwal, 1,064 in Sialkot, 2,013 in Gujranwala, 654 in Murree, 1,228 in Sargodha, 943 in Jhang, 431 in Toba Tek Singh, 617 in Muzafargarh, 526 in Rajanpur, 340 in Mianwali, 708 in Pakpattan, 668 in Kasur, 512 in Gujrat, 536 in Bahawalnagar, 272 in Jhelum, 490 in Attock, 573 in Khanewal, 448 in Vehari, 266 in Chakwal, 624 in Okara, 331 in Hafizabad, 562 in Sheikhupura, 605 in Lodhran, 318 in Nankana Sahib, 349 in Khushab, 240 in Mandi Bahauddin, 343 in Narowal, 335 in Layyah and 400 in Bhakkar.
Operations were carried out in 12,490 road traffic accidents, 18,320 medical emergencies, 557 fire accidents, 129 building collapse incidents, 1769 crime cases, 180 drowning accidents, 130 special rescue operations and 13 explosions. Over 557 fire emergencies were also prevented by reaching the emergency spot in time.
The DG requested the citizens to be careful while driving in wind, rain and bad weather and to dial 1122 immediately in case of any emergency.
