Reema’s ‘Love Mein Ghum’ to open on Eid

It seems as if Lollywood too is bringing about some kind of change, apart from the atypical ‘Punjabi Jutt’ films that are being produced and released throughout the year. Of course the changemaker had to be none other than the dynamic, vibrant Reema Khan, who is bent upon making a film with a slick, entertaining image, and a star studded cast which is bound to attract not just the typical Lollywood market, but definitely others too.
Reema’s film ‘Love Mein Ghum’, is scheduled for an Eid release across Pakistan. One of the reasons that the film has a slick look is the high production benchmark set by (of course) corporate giant Lux stepping forward as a presenting sponsor. Reema’s second directorial venture after Koi Tujh Saa Kahan (2005), stars the actress along with Nadeem, Jawed Sheikh, Momi Rana, Gia Ali, Nabeel Khan, Rambo, Ali Saleem and great Bollywood actors like Johnny Lever. The film has been picturised in Azerbaijan and Malaysia, with its post production in Pakistan, Mumbai, Hyderabad Deccan, and Bangkok.
“This film is about a kind of social issue, just like I tried to put in my last film,” says Reema, visibly excited about the film. “I have tried to instill hope in people, because I read the paper everyday and I see suicides and unhappiness and discontent. Hope is what people need just now.”
Reema says that the film attempts to be a kind of light hearted comedy with a subtle message, and does not dwell on misery or heaviness. “I am so tired of heaviness in our media, that is why I have opted to make a film that is primarily entertaining for the audience.”
The title song of the film is already out on TV. Specially choreographed by Pappu Samrat, and directed by ace ad-maker Saqib Malik, the song was catchy, and studded with models, film stars, the Lux girls, and also TV actors. The song is a palpable reminder of the title song of Bollywood film Om Shanti Om. And with Ali Zafar crooning in his deep, melodious voice, the song is bound to be a hit.
“My special thanks go to Nomi Ansari who styled these celebrities for the song,” says Reema. “And to the three designers who have acted in this film, because this has never been done before. They include HSY, Mehdi and Asiya Sail.” For the film, Nabila, she says, has done the styling.
Love Mein Gum is expected to bring back the hard-core Lollywood movie buff back to the cinemas, says Reema.
With Reema as face of the brand’s new 1,000 gold coins campaign, her film may get the same television boost in promotions and premieres as did Katrina Kaif in Tees Maar Khan. The music track of the film has songs by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Zafar, Abrar-ul-Haq, Kailash Kher and Shazia Manzoor. The music is composed by Arshad Mehmood (M Arshad) and Ravi Bal (Ravinder Singh Bal), a UK based composer while the lyrics are penned by Khawaja Parvez.
“I am also happy to say that the soundtrack has had work done by both Pakistani and Indian artists and that this is a great union for both countries,” says the film star. Love Mein Gum will be screened at leading cinemas of all cities during Eid. The film is to be released in Europe, UK and the US altogether apart from Pakistan. However India is not yet seeing an official release of the film.
