The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), on Wednesday, asked political parties to submit their statement of accounts for financial year 2010-2011 before August 29.
According to Article 13 of the Political Parties Order 2002, every political party has to submit a statement of accounts of the party to the ECP within 60 days from the closing of each financial year. A consolidated statement, duly audited by a chartered accountant, has to be submitted with details of annual income and expenses, sources of funds and assets and liabilities.
A certificate signed by the party leader stating that no funds from any source prohibited under Political Parties Order 2002, were received by the party and the statement contains an accurate financial position of the party has to submitted with the statement. Printed Form-I is available, free of cost, in the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and in the offices of the provincial election commissioners of all four provinces.
