Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that his party was highly galvanised to give every sacrifice to uphold the supremacy of the judiciary.
“An independent judiciary is the unique asset of Pakistan and it is a false sense of complacence if anybody believes that the conspiracy against the judiciary will succeed. We will never let anyone harm the judiciary,” he said told former Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senator Anwar Baig and former National Assembly member Iftikhar Ahmed, who called on him at his Raiwind residence.
Nawaz said the PML-N was practicing the politics of principles and it would not compromise on the sovereignty, integrity and independence of the judiciary. He said the PPP-led coalition government disappointed the nation and the situation had already taken a toll on democracy.
He said it was time personal interests were put aside in favour of the national cause, but it was a pity that the government was indulged in its own vested interests that had caused the people many hardships such as unemployment, lawlessness and corruption.
