These days the promotion of Indian models in the advertisement is very common thing. Instead of our Pakistani models, Indian models/actors are approached to advertise the products.
The talent in Pakistan is mind blowing not even in modeling, but in other fields too. Pakistani nation has proved its talent.
Our models are working even with very limited resources and have proved their ability in this field. But unfortunately, our media is running in a fixed pattern and follows others and is establishing a fantasy of the models of a neighbour country.
If Pakistan will not give coverage to its own models then who will give recognition to our shinning stars? No one can see the picture of Vanessa and Amna Haq on the Indian advertising boards. But their models can be seen representing products in the Pakistani media.
This is behaving like a slow poison for our talent as they all are losing chance to be introduced on international level. Moreover, this ignoring behaviour is damaging their self image by affecting their reputation. From this unfair promotion, Pakistan can face many identical problems in future.
I request the media and people of Pakistan that they give full coverage to Pakistani models. They should be given equal chances to show their talent and get the fame nationwide as well as on the international level. Moreover, government should also implement some law to save our individuality and identity in the world.
