The vice chancellor of University of Karachi (KU) has congratulated the chairman, the faculty and the students of the Karachi University Business School (KUBS) on receiving the ‘Innovation Leadership Award’ at the Asia’s Best Business School Awards ceremony held in Singapore. According to a KU press release, the winner of the award was announced by the World Educational Council and CMO Asia in collaboration with the CMO Council. Being the nominee for this award, Dr Abdul Rahman Zaki, chairman of the KUBS, received the award from Andrew Kelly, the council’s chief organiser and chairman. The awards of highest stature were presented to individuals and institutions that have surpassed several levels of its excellence and have set an example of being a role model and exemplary leadership. The award ceremony was organised by the CMO Asia at the Suntec Convention Hall, Singapore, where delegates from different countries around the world were invited .The main aim of this ceremony was to appreciate the different institutions in various countries that are providing their valuable contributions in the field of business education. Speaking about the ceremony, Dr Zaki appreciated the efforts of the vice chancellor of the KUBS and he dedicated this award to him. “It was due to his [vice chancellor’s] support and encouragement for the school that I was able to win this award,” he added. According to the press release, the foundations of the KUBS were laid on very meagre resources, but the revolutionary leadership of the vice chancellor took it to such heights that now it is ranked among the best business schools of the world.
