To inculcate a sense of responsibility among road users, the Islamabad Police imparted education to 416,135 people about traffic rules during the current year by visiting 64 institutions and holding workshops.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood monitored the campaign initiated by the education wing of the ITP. The ITP teams visited seven educational institutions, 21 government organisations, seven seminaries and 18 non-governmental organisations, besides holding special workshops.
These teams mainly gave road safety tips to the participants of the workshops and focused on inculcating a sense of responsibility among road users. The ITP also involved different organisations in its campaign and launched nine programmes with their cooperation to disseminate the message of a safe road environment.
In various exhibitions, six stalls were also set up by the ITP personnel and road safety tips given to the visitors. Colourful painting competitions and quiz were also arranged in various educational institutions to boost the image of the ITP force and take on board male as well as female students in its efforts to make journey safe in the capital.
Hundreds of students from various schools were also called to ride bicycles in the parks of the ITP headquarters to educate them on road safety measures.
SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood has said that the efforts to make the capital an accident-free city would continue with the cooperation of the citizens.
