With the inception of social media in our lives, we are largely dependent on information that emanates from the blogs and other web-based sources. The correct use of freedom and constructive use of technology can make a lot of difference.
Nowadays, the concept of e-journalism and e-media is gaining popularity because it is equivalent to independent media. Citizen journalism is still safe from the plagues of nepotism and yellow journalism. Majority of the students find social networking quite attractive and they dedicate a substantial portion of their time to it.
Unfortunately, they are not aware of the power that social media possesses in terms of spreading the message of hope or disclosing facts. It can work like magic in order to portray a soft-image of Pakistan. Students should realise that the future belongs to them and they owe something to this country which got freedom after uncountable sacrifices. Student blogs should receive the attention that they deserve not only quantitatively but students should also actively participate in such blogs.
They should share their opinion and discuss matters pertaining to the present state of affairs of the country. At least we all can get united for the common cause of being well-acquainted with the conditions of our country and suggest solutions for the problems that have engulfed it. It has provided them with a platform where they could freely express their opinions and that’s what makes its impact on Pakistan so significant. It is democracy itself: for the people, by the people. It is the youth speaking up for the good of the youth. Pakistan’s strength (the youth) should consider these options as it has to take charge in the future for which its interest should be visible.
