The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday approved an increase of Rs 1.04 per unit in the tariff under the monthly fuel adjustment charges for the distribution companies (DISCOs).
The hike will be applicable from the next month to all consumers, except those consuming less than 50 units a month. A NEPRA bench heard the petition filed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) claiming that the cost of production had increased as one third of the power purchased was produced from furnace oil in the
month of June.
