Recently, the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) agreed to a scheduled loadshedding in Karachi during the holy month of Ramzan. As per the agreement, the KESC decided to facilitate people during Ramzan so that people might avail the opportunity and face no difficulties. To abide by this agreement, the KESC bagged rupee three billion’s subsidy as well as gas and furnace oil in abundance by the government but it all proved wrong when they started loadshedding again.
On the very first day of Ramzan, the KESC’s claim to provide electricity constantly to the public turned out to be wrong. After every one and a half hour, the KESC did resort to loadshedding for two hours that created a difficult situation for the people. This has become a habit of the KESC that it avails and gobbles up funds from the government and then forgets people’s needs. I request the concerned authorities to please take stern action against the KESC and ensure electricity without any disturbance.
