With the advent of the month of Ramadan, the residents of Islamabad thronged to ‘sasta bazaars’, where the rates of food items were comparatively lower than the rates offered at regular markets and weekly bazaars.
The ‘sasta bazaar’ set up at G-7 under the supervision of the local administration witnessed a rush of customers on the first day of the holy month.
People visiting the G-7 sasta bazaar expressed their satisfaction over the quality and rates of food items at the bazaar and said that such bazaars were a great source of economic relief for the common man.
According to the ‘sasta bazaar’ rate list, potatoes were sold at Rs 40/kg, onions at Rs 21/kg, tomatoes at Rs 50/kg, lemons at Rs 140/kg, eggplants at Rs 19/kg, apples at 130/kg and 20 kg flour bags were sold for Rs 430.
