The fact that Nowshehra is even now experiencing floods shows that it will not be Kalabagh dam which will cause floods in Nowshehra but Kabul, Chitral and Swat rivers which are doing so now. Only a dam on Swat river at Munda can moderate these floods.
The KBD reservoir at maximum storage level will be 915 feet above sea level, and will remain 25 feet below Nowshehra at 940 feet. In the flood season, the reservoir will be drawn-down to 100 feet below Nowshehra. A reservoir which is 100 miles away from the city and 100 feet below it cannot possibly cause floods there.
The public must be informed of these facts through the print and electronic media.
