I am a senior citizen and my only car, a Suzuki Khyber, 1994 model (LOU 147), was stolen on 18 July, 2009. I lodged an FIR with the number 142/09 in the Circular Road police station.
I have been writing to police officials, Punjab home department and Citizen-Police Liaison Committee regularly. It is now two years since that incident happened but nothing has been done by any authority.
Being the Chief Executive Officer of Punjab it is your prime responsibility to protect the lives and properties of the citizen living under your official jurisdiction. I request you to provide me a car from your special funds at your discretion or from police’s welfare funds or from your personal pocket as I know you can afford it.
The failure of police force’s car lifting cell in not recovering the car shows their poor performance. I suggest that the cost of stolen cars be deducted from their salaries. I think without the connivance of police force no criminal gang can operate.
