Meeting discusses Elite Force reorganisation

In order to reorganise the Elite Police Force of Punjab, a regional police officers’ (RPO) meeting was held at the Police Headquarters on Monday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Javed Iqbal presided over the meeting in which standard operating procedure (SOP) and command/control of Elite Police Force Punjab was discussed. Various related suggestions and recommendations were presented by the participants before the IGP.
Earlier, Elite Police Force AIG Qalib-e-Abbas briefed the participants about the existing structure of the Elite Force. The meeting also discussed the overall security situation of the province.
Add IG Punjab Ch Tanveer, Capital City Police Officer, Lahore, Ahmad Raza Tahir, RPO Sheikhpura Dr Arif Mushtaq Ch, RPO Khanewal Khaliq Dad Lak, RPO Bahawalpur Mohammad Abid Qadri, AIG Operations Shahzad Sultan, PSO to IGP Fayyaz Ahmad Dev and district police officers concerned also attended the meeting.
IGP: To make Punjab secure for citizens, the police should not spare hardened criminals simply to please influential people, said IGP Punjab Javed Iqbal, while addressing the head-money distribution ceremony held at Police Headquarters on Monday.
The IGP appreciated police officials of Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Jehlum, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Khanewal for showing exemplary courage in apprehending hardened proclaimed offenders across Punjab. The provincial police chief also praised informers in this regard. He said despite facing risks and challenges every day, the social image of police was not up to the mark because of some irresponsible officials. He advised the Jawans to work continuously continue for the eradication of crime from the province.
Around Rs 4.7 million were distributed among 107 police officers/officials including four informers. The IGP thanked the Punjab Government for providing monetary rewards to police officials.
