Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan Sunday said he would take on PML-N President Nawaz Sharif in next general elections in his own constituency of Lahore, daring the former premier to prove his popularity.
“I will contest against Sharif from Lahore and it will be proved in the time to come whose citadel Lahore is. I challenge him to show his popularity in Lahore. Gone are the days when Lahore was the stronghold of the PML-N,” Khan told a news conference organised in connection with ‘Jag Utho’ (Wake Up) drive.
“Now, the residents of Lahore will support my party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.” Imran claimed that the PTI would defeat the PML-N with big margin by sweeping the general elections. Terming Nawaz Sharif a trickster, he said his party would never form an alliance with PML-N as it left the in APDM in a lurch. He said if the PML-N really stood with the apex court, it should resign forthwith from the assemblies to express solidarity with judiciary.
He said the PTI would bring a genuine judicial revolution that would not return from Gujranwala after hammering a deal.
