45 suspects arrested in Islamabad

Forty-five suspects were arrested during various search operations in Islamabad on Sunday, the city police said. An Islamabad police spokesman said effective crackdowns, on special instructions from IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan, against suspects and mischievous elements were conducted to ensure peace in the city. Search operations were done in slum areas including Korang Town, Pakistan Town, PWD Colony, Loi Bher, Police Foundation, Doctors Colony and other adjoining areas.
The spokesman said the accused were shifted to police stations and investigations had started. He said the suspects had failed to prove their identity during the search operations. Meanwhile, Kohsar Police Station SHO Abid Ikram and his team raided a house in sector F-6/1 and arrested 16 people for their alleged involvement in immoral activities. Moreover, 24 whine bottles were also recovered during the raid.
Besides, Sub-Inspector Aashiq and ASI Abarar Hussain from Tarnol police apprehended Gul Wali and Ayat Ullah and took one hand grenade and two bore pistols in their custody.
