Violating Diamond cut to size by buildings watchdog

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), formerly the Karachi Building Control Authority, has cancelled the no objection certificate (NOC) issued to Diamond Builders for violating laws in its project ‘Karachi Complex’, which is under construction in Liaquatabad.
According to an SBCA press release issued on Saturday, Licence No BL-2364 issued to Diamond Builders has been revoked for failure to comply with SBCA rules and regulations.
Diamond Builders has also been prohibited from advertising any of their projects and continuing construction work in any part of the city.
The SBCA has warned people not to invest in the Karachi Complex project, situated on plot survey No 642 in Deh Gujjaro, Sir Suleiman Road, Liaquatabad.
Separately, on the directives of SBCA Director General Manzoor Qadir, many illegal constructions, exceeding approved plans, in different parts of the city have been demolished and sealed.
The demolition squads of SBCA in a campaign against buildings constructed or under construction in violation of the authority’s rules, have demolished the sixth floor of a building on plot No SR-1, 8-A in Surrey Quarters, Saddar. Similarly, walls built as part of the 10th floor in a building constructed on plot No SR-2, 11/2/1, in Saddar were also razed by the teams.
They also razed illegal structures built on plot No 480 in Shakar Ganj Colony, Jamshed Town, plot No 254 in Catholic Colony, plot Nos 39 and 254 in Soldier Bazaar area and Plot No R-1186/14 in Gulberg Town. Two shops constructed on an amenity plot in Federal B Area were also demolished.
The campaign was carried out under the supervision of the deputy and assistant directors as well as the demolition officers of the authority.
