Supremacy of parliament is an acknowledged fact but it will not be allowed to strike the judiciary, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday. In a meeting of the newly-elected office-bearers of the PML-N, Nawaz said the government would have to implement judicial decisions.
“The PML-N will not disappoint the people,” he said. Nawaz said unprecedented sacrifices had been rendered for the cause of the rule of law and independence of the judiciary. “Parliament is supreme but it will not be allowed to act as a shield for corruption,” he said.
He said expressing solidarity with public servants for the maintenance rule of law was a good omen.
