A young girl and a man were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in two different incidents on Saturday, and a woman died in hospital after she fell unconscious in a rickshaw in mysterious circumstances. The 12-year-old girl named Riffat, daughter of Muhammad Rafique, was shot dead by unidentified bike riders in H-Block, Sabzazar Scheme.
Police said she was standing outside her house when the gunmen opened fire on her. Riffat sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Police registered a murder case against the unidentified assailants.
MAN MURDERED: A 38-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified men in the Shafiqabad police precincts on Saturday. The victim, identified as Amjad Khan, was a resident of Band Road. Neighbours found his body lying in a park and informed the police. Khan’s body bore marks of torture and police suspected that he had been killed elsewhere and his body had later been dumped at the park.
The victim’s brother told police that the family did not have enmity with anyone.
