Property dealer shot dead in Lahore


Unidentified men shot dead a property dealer at EME Housing Society in the Chuhang Police Station’s precincts late on Friday.
According to initial reports, the killers approached Muhammad Arshad approached him from behind and opened fire during a scuffle. The victim sustained multiple injuries and died on the spot. Sources in police, however, said Arshad was intercepted by robbers and they shot him dead ob offering resistance. Police claim that they were not in a position to say where the victim was shot dead by robbers or over some other reason due to lack of information.
protest in front of minister’s house: Dozens of Shuja Colony residents staged a protest on Friday in front of Punjab Education Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman’s house against land grabbers, who had forcibly demolished their houses.
Protesters alleged that during the operation, Gujjarpura Police tortured residents, including women and children.
They placed the injured people on Main GT Road, close to the minister’s residence and blocked the road for two hours.
The protesters burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Punjab government and the Gujjarpura Police. During the operation, Nazeeran Bibi, 70, refused to vacate her house and locked her but LDA officials did not pay attention and bulldozed her house with heavy machinery. As a result, Nazeeran and her grandson Irfan, 20, were injured.
