India trip was fruitful, Hina tells leadership

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Friday separately called on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and briefed the country’s leadership on the recent Pakistan-India dialogue held in New Delhi. During her meeting with the president, the minister informed him about her discussions with the Indian leadership.
Expressing satisfaction over the progress made during her visit, Zardari said Pakistan welcomed the commitment of the two sides to work together in seeking an early and amicable solutions to all issues between the two countries.
During his meeting with Hina, the prime minister reiterated that Pakistan wanted to have good neighbourly relations with all regional countries including India, in the larger interest of the welfare of the people of South Asia. He said the continuation of dialogue process with India would help both countries improve the environment as well as facilitate discussions on all issues of concern between the two countries.
Gilani said it was an encouraging sign that the talks between the two countries were helping develop a better understanding of each other’s viewpoint on all issues including the Kashmir dispute.
He was also pleased to learn that the Indian prime minister would be visiting Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
Earlier, the foreign minister briefed the premier about the outcome of the official talks with the Indian delegation. She also briefed Gilani about her meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, leader of the oppositions and the Kashmiri leaders.
