Teachers should focus on personality and moral training of students instead of just teaching them their academic courses, Government College University, (GCU) Lahore Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Khaliqur Rehman said on Saturday. He was addressing a reception hosted by university faculty members in his honour at the Bokhari Auditorium. Khaliq said that it is responsibility of all teachers, regardless of the subject they teach, to be good role models for students.
The VC said that GCU faculty members are very hardworking and talented and vowed to provide all-out support and facilities to all staff members so that they could work with commitment and dedication. He said that motivated faculty is the key to put the university on a path leading to international acclaim. GCU Social Sciences and Arts Dean Dr Khalid Pervaiz assured the new VC of full cooperation from all faculty members. He hoped that GCU would progress by leaps and bounds under the leadership of Khaliq.
