Anti-terrorism courts

Terrorism is a major problem but tackling it is our need. An important impediment in this regard is the prosecution and ineffectual trail of terrorists that are apprehended. Due to various lacunas in the law and a lack of evidence, they often get a clean chit from the courts.

The suspect of the attack on army GHQ and Marriot Hotel in Karachi was arrested but later released by the courts because evidence was not available against him. There are many more examples of the same. There is a need to have proper laws and easier process of prosecution to handle these terrorists. The Anti-terrorist law was promulgated in Musharraf period but it expired in 2009 but was re-promulgated in 2010. Its promulgation is not enough though, its implementation is the real deal.
