Akhtar takes a dig at Zaheer

Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar took a dig at his Indian counterpart Zaheer Khan; saying that the pacer should understand that cricket did not support ‘weaker bodies.’ Reports quoted Akhtar, who himself has had to deal with recurring injuries, that Zaheer has a body that sustained him for the last three years but it is not the fittest anymore.
Zaheer strained his hamstring on the opening day of the first Test against England last week and Akhtar cautioned him against taking his body lightly. “He (Zaheer) has to understand that cricket does not support the weaker bodies and can pull it out at times which you least expect,” the Rawalpindi Express said and he chosen to give examples from his own career to elaborate his view.
Akhtar also set sights on Sachin Tendulkar and said he was disappointed with his timid batting display on the final day of the Lord’s Test. “Sachin, I don’t understand. He gets under so much pressure and then he blocks, blocks and blocks. Why doesn’t he go out to people like James Anderson and Stuart Broad. I think he should play his natural game to win the big day,” he added.
