A 22-year-old woman was allegedly poisoned by her in-laws in the Chung police precincts on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Farzana, was the wife of Munir, a resident of Ali Hussainabad. According to police, Farzana’s father, Maqbool said his daughter’s in-laws used to torture her over minor issues and she had complained ti her father several times.
Munir said his wife had swallowed opium due to which her condition got critical and he took her to a hospital but she did not survive. Farzana’s body was taken to city morgue for autopsy. The Chung Police arrested the accused, Munir and registered a case on a complaint by the victim’s father. Separately, a 50-year-old man was killed by his relatives after accusing him of performing black magic on a girl in the Nishtar Colony police precincts.
