An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of Sarfraz Shah killing case until Friday due to a strike called by the lawyers’ community against the killing of their colleagues.
The court could not proceed the hearing as defence counsels submitted adjournment applications stating that the lawyers’ fraternity was observing a ‘black day’ and boycotting courts against the killing of their colleague, Junaid Rehman. Thirty-seven-year-old Junaid Rehman was shot dead outside his house in Block 17, Federal B Area in the Gulberg police remits on Wednesday.
ATC-I Judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso granted the application and adjourned the hearing for the next day. The lawyers had observed a complete boycott of court proceedings on the call of Karachi Bar Association and Malir District Court Bar Association.
