Title holders WAPDA, Punjab, Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Islamabad reached the semifinals of the 10th National Women’s Volleyball Championship here at Hamidi Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex on Wednesday. In the first match of the day HEC thrashed Punjab in straight sets by 25-17, 25-13 and 25-8. In the second match, Islamabad outplayed KP by 3-0 with the score-line of 25-9, 25-12 and 25-23. In the other matches, Punjab defeated FATA in straight sets by 25-9, 25-8 and 25-5 while HEC stunned Balochistan by 3-0. The score-line remained 25-3, 25-2 and 25-7. In the last encounter of the day, WAPDA beat Islamabad by 25-11, 25-14 and 25-14. In the semifinals WAPDA will meet Punjab while HEC will take on Islamabad today at the same venue.
