Two drown as car plunges into canal

As many as two youth drowned while two were rescued when the car they were travelling in plunged into Upper Chenab Canal. The incident took place near Sambrial area on early Thursday morning.
Report said that four young men, identified as Imram, Irfan, Zahid and Sami Ullah— all hailing from Lahore, were returning to Lahore after visiting their relatives in Hajipura, Sialkot when the accident took place.
Witnesses said it was drizzling and apparently the car had slipped into the canal. The locals and Rescue 1122 staff responded to the situation and saved two of them identified as Imarn and Irfan. They also fished out the car but Zahid, 28, and Sami Ullah, 25, had drowned by then.
