Robbers roam free in Sialkot district

The robbers continued their looting spree in Sialkot district, depriving citizens of their hard-earned money and other valuables on late Wednesday night.
Police said a gang of 10 armed robbers looted gold ornaments, cash, electronics items and other valuables worth millions of rupees from the passengers travelling on the Daska-Gujranwala Road near village Ranjhai. They would stop cars and other vehicles and robbed the occupants of their money and valuables.
Those who were robbed included a Sialkot-based family. Members of the family including Tariq, Kamran, Aamir and Tahira Bibi said that the robbers looted their gold ornaments, cash and four cell phones worth thousands of rupees from them. The robbers also snatched Rs20,000 and two cell phones from two motorcyclists – Shehzad and Adnan. They also deprived a trader Muhammad Younas and his family of gold ornaments and thousands of rupees. The culprits also snatched Rs0.25 million from another trader Bilal Ahmed, a resident of Sambrial who was travelling in his car. They also looted hundreds of thousands of rupees and several cell phones from other persons including Babar, Shamshad, Tanveer and Shehzad.
After hours of looting, the highwaymen fled from the scene of the crime.
The Daska Saddar Police are investigating into highway robberies.
Meanwhile, six armed robbers snatched Rs125,000 and three cell phones from Sialkot-based cargo company owner Malik Arshad, his brother Talib and his son Asghar near Badiana, Pasrur on main Sialkot-Pasrur Road on late Wednesday night.
The accused also roughed up Malik Arshad on offering resistance. The robbers managed to flee from the site.
The Badiana Police have also started the investigation into the incident.
In another major robbery in Sialkot city, four robbers barged into the house of a local trader Ather Mir, took the family hostage and made off with Rs2.5 million, 27 tola gold ornaments and dowry items of Mir’s daughter. The Naikapura Police are investigating into the armed robbery.
In yet another incident, some burglars broke into the house of a medicines company representative Zahid Asghar and decamped with gold ornaments, electronics goods and other valuables worth of Rs0.6 million. The incident took place with Muhallah Borhiwala of Naikapura. Similarly, some armed robbers snatched a motorcycle, thousands of rupees and two cell phones from a trader Wazaahat Ameen near Kotli Bawa Faqeer Chand in Pasrur.
Separately some armed robbers looted gold ornaments, cash, electronics goods and other valuables worth Rs0.7 million from the house of a trader Raza Chaudhry in Muhammad Town of Sialkot city. The Hajipura Police are investigating the incident. In a similar incident three robbers snatched a motorcycle from a shopkeeper Shahid Mehmood and his wife near village Sehjoki on main Daska-Sambrial Road. Meanwhile, some thieves took away a motorcycle belonging to a citizen, Ghulam Murtaza, from Lorry Adda of Daska city. And in another hit, some bandits took away 10 buffaloes worth of Rs1.2 million from the dera (outhouse) of owned by Ilyas in the village Glotiyaan of Daska.
