CID SSP’s suspension demanded over Bukhari murder case

The leaders of various Shia organisations demanded the Sindh High Court chief justice, the chief minister, the IGP and the Karachi CCPO on Wednesday to immediately arrest the culprits nominated in the targeted killing of advocate Mukhtar Bukhari.
Addressing a joint press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Maulana Mirza Yousuf Hussain of the Shia Action Committee, Allama Aftab Jaffari of the Jaffari Alliance Pakistan, Maulana Munawar Naqvi of the Majlis-e-Wehdat Muslameen, SM Haider of the Pasban-e-Aza, Maulana Shabir Messami of the Shia Ulema Council and others said that CID SSP Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam was nominated in the targeted killing case of Bukhari and urged the government to immediately suspend him and investigate his links with an outlawed organisation.
They alleged that the CID SSP was using illegal means to pressure the applicant to withdraw the petition against him.
They claimed that Bukhari was the advocate in several high-profile cases including the Muntazir Imam illegal detention case against the CID SSP.
”The SSP had been threatening Bukhari to withdraw from the case, but the latter refused,” they said.
