The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)’s prediction of thunderstorms in lower Sindh including Karachi from Saturday until Tuesday at last materialised – somewhat – on its last day when the city received a few drops of rain, turning the sizzling weather pleasant.
Just like the many recent weather advisories of the PMD, the latest also proved dud as the city received only few drops of rainwater accompanied with cool winds instead of the ‘dust and thunderstorms’.
Many citizens came out of their homes in anticipation of enjoying the rain; however, they were disappointed as the light drizzle ended only after a few minutes.
The rain also resulted in traffic jams on different roads.
On contact, PMD on-duty officer said there is a possibility of more rain in the city as cloudy weather has been predicted for Wednesday.
The PMD on Tuesday recorded 1 mm of rain in the Jinnah International Airport area, but the officer was clueless about the amount of rain in other areas of the city.
