The Sindh government is launching a peace drive in the city from today (Wednesday) as part of its efforts to restore peace in Karachi. “The peace drive aims to bring harmony in Karachi by creating awareness through the media and the civil society, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced at a press conference at the New Sindh Secretariat on Tuesday.
“The peace drive would include a media campaign, billboard messages, peace walks, seminars, debate competitions among children in schools, etc,” he added.
The minister elaborated that the PPP has no political intentions behind the peace drive. “The government is looking forward to the cooperation and participation of all the political parties, civil society organisations, media, trade bodies, religious scholars and other sections of the society in the campaign. Peace messages would be communicated through emails and mobile SMS,” he added.
