The first Khawaja Samiud Din Weightlifting Gold Cup will be held on July 30 at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines Lahore. To be organised by Police Sports Board with collaboration of Pakistan Weightlifting Federation, the event will be participated by WAPDA, Railway, Police, Punjab and HEC.
According to organising secretary Akeel Javed Butt, Zafar Abbas Lak, DIG Director Police Sports Board, is the chairman organizing committee, Hafiz Imran Butt, chairman technical committee while chairman reception committee is Khawaja Samiud Din who is former international weightlifter and three-time South Asian champion.
Ali Amir Malik, DIG, will be the chief guest while Abdul Razzaq Cheema SSP, Qazi Shaheen DSP, Tariq Sukhera DSP, Saleem Mukhtar Butt DSP, Mian Yahya Siraj, Abid Pehlwan, Brother Of late Jhara Pehlwan, Sajjad Ahmed Manj SSP, Mian Khan Mohal DSP, Anjum Butt, Syed Raza Shah, Sports Officer Punjab Police will be among the guests.
Rommel Akram, SP Headquarter, will inaugurate the event at 3 pm while chief guest Malik Ahmad Raza Tahir DIG CCPO Lahore will distribute medals and prizes at 6.30 pm.
