Journalist robbed of valuables worth Rs 0.4m

Around a dozen armed robbers looted valuables including jewellery, cash and mobiles phones worth Rs 400,000 from Lahore Press Club Secretary Azam Chaudhry and his family after setting up a barricade on main Ferozepur Road in Mustafaabad Police precincts in Kasur on Tuesday. Chaudhry was on his way to Lahore with his family when he saw the robbers looting citizens at the barricade. He tried to flee but the armed robbers opened fire on his vehicle and forced him to stop it. Then they held Chaudhry’s son at gunpoint and snatched gold ornament weighing 6.5 tolas, Rs 12,000 in cash and four mobile phones from them before releasing them.
