The Pakistan Cricket Board is planning to increase the number of Test venues in the country and for the purpose the PCB grounds committee is visiting all the cricket venues of the country in an assessment drive.
The committee comprising Intikhab ALam, Ali Talpur and Ch Anwar is visiting all the cricket venues of the country to make an assessment report for their upgradation from simple venues to grade I and first class venues and also prefabricate the ODI venues to Test venues.
Pakistan normally proposes three venues to hold test matches that include Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad or Multan.
But it wants to broaden the range of venues and wants to include Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and some other venues to the list of stadiums where it can hold test matches.
Rawalpindi is already undergoing renovation and the contractors have been given a deadline to complete the work while similar work is also undergoing at Lahore where all the wickets were re-laid while some construction work is still going on.
