Minister Livestock & Dairy Development and Agriculture Malik Ahmed Ali Aulakh directed the officers of Livestock department to present comprehensive proposals for the improvement of 22 livestock farms in Punjab. He said this while addressing the special committee meeting constituted by the Chief Minister Punjab for the improvement of livestock farms. He advised to replace the poor performance delivering farm superintendents with young hardworking officers so that production of milk and meat could be enhanced.
Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh briefed that there are 22 livestock farms in Punjab and research is being carried out on various breeds of buffalo, cattle, sheep, goat and camels Out of the 22, 5 are research institutes, 10 are livestock experiment stations and the department is shifting two livestock farms to Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board and Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company.
